The Ghana Enterprise Agency in collaboration with World Bank, organized the Ghana Job and Skill Project in Mampong Municipal. The project aimed to provide entrepreneurship training, financial literacy training, and grant support to the youth, unemployed individuals, and existing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The main objectives of the project were to equip the youth and the unemployed individuals with essential entrepreneurial skills, to enhance financial literacy among participants, enabling them to effectively manage their finances, to provide grant support to existing MSMEs, facilitating their growth and expansion
The project included a series of training sessions conducted over a period of five days. The topics covered during these sessions included:
– Introduction to entrepreneurship and business planning.
– Marketing and sales strategies.
– Financial management and budgeting.
– Basic KAIZEN
– Access to finance and funding opportunities.
– Digital skills for business growth.
Financial literacy training sessions were conducted to educate participants about basic financial concepts and practices. The training covered topics such as:
– Personal budgeting and savings.
– Understanding credit and debt management.
– Investment options and risk assessment.
– Financial planning for business growth.
As part of the project, eligible youth with business plans and existing MSME will be provided with grant support to boost their businesses when they graduate to intermediate and advance level of the training. The grant support aimed to assist in various areas, such as: Procurement of equipment and machinery, marketing and advertising activities, capacity building and skills development and research and development initiatives.
The Ghana Job and Skill Project in Mampong had several positive impacts, including:
– Empowering the youth and unemployed individuals with entrepreneurial skills, increasing their chances of self-employment.
– Enhancing financial literacy among participants, enabling them to make informed financial decisions.
– Creating employment opportunities and contributing to the local economic growth.
The Ghana Job and Skill Project organized by the Ghana Enterprise Agency in Mampong successfully provided entrepreneurship training, financial literacy training, to the youth, unemployed individuals, and existing MSMEs. The project played a crucial role in equipping participants with essential skills and resources to start and grow their businesses, thereby fostering economic development in the Municipal and Ghana at Large.
