The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Mampong in the Ashanti region, Thomas Appiah Kubi has urged assembly members to forge together and work with unity of purpose to enhance the development of the Mampong municipality.
The MCE noted that people in the municipality are yearning for massive development and it is the responsibility of the assembly to spearhead and facilitate this development, adding that, this can only be achieved if members of the assembly come together and approach issues with development oriented mindset to fast track the infrastructural development in the various electoral areas.
“With unity and oneness in approaching our developmental issues, we can as assembly achieve so much as far as improvement in infrastructural development is concerned even in a shortest possible time ahead”, he intimated.

It was the first meeting of the assembly after the successful election of the Presiding Member (PM).
Mr. Appiah Kubi reiterated that the assembly has not been able to execute some important projects and activities because some of the management decisions need the consideration and approval of the general assembly but the delay in the election of PM and the formation of duly constituted Sub-Committees had affected that procedure.
He, therefore, urged the assembly members to bear with the assembly and forge ahead to put things in place measures to accelerate the smooth implementation of the programmes and activities of the assembly to enhance the development of the Mampong municipality.
During the meeting, all the statutory sub-committees of the Executive Committee were duly constituted.
Each of the sub-committees later held meeting and discussed Agenda relative to their mandates
Also the Election of three (3) other members of the Assembly to serve on the Executive Committee per Section 19(2) (c) and (d) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) was held and successful elected members were duly added to complete the composition of the committee.
The meeting further elected five (5) other members to serve on the Public Relations and Complaints Committee (PRCC) in accordance with section 19(b) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act, 936).
The meeting witnessed a strong posture of adherence to regulations as members of the assembly insisted and ensured that relevant provisions of the Local Governance Act relating to the elections of members to relevant sub-committees and conduct of affairs and proceeding of the assembly were strictly adhered to and applied to the letter.
Some new officers who have joined the assembly to offer their services in the various Departments of the Assembly were introduced to the members by the Presiding Member.
Members were also informed officially that the Urban Roads Engineer, Mr. Daniel Ansah had gone on compulsory retirement from the public service.
The Assembly member for Woraso Electoral Area informed the meeting that the area had finally been connected to the National Grid after several years of agitation and request for electricity power for the area and expressed on behalf of the people of the area their great gratefulness to the MCE and others who contributed in no small measure to ensure that they get electricity power.
Members also noted with satisfaction some other development projects that have taken place in some parts of the municipality.
The Presiding Member (PM), Daniel Oduro, bringing the meeting to a close, thanked members for the fruitful deliberation and urged them to maintain the strong sprit of diligence to follow principle and procedures and fairness, and commitment to the progress of the Mampong municipality.
