• Sports Prefect – Otuasekan M/A Junior High School

Hon. Issifu Yakubu began demonstrating leadership qualities at an early age during his time at Otuasekan M/A Junior High School, where he served as the Sports Prefect. In this role, he promoted discipline, teamwork, and active participation in sporting activities among students. His commitment to encouraging unity and talent development through sports earned him admiration from both students and teachers.

• School Prefect – Agona SDA Senior High School

At Agona SDA Senior High School, Hon. Issifu Yakubu further distinguished himself through exemplary conduct and academic dedication, leading to his appointment as School Prefect. As the head of the student body, he worked closely with school authorities to maintain discipline, coordinate student affairs, and promote a peaceful and conducive learning environment.

• SRC President – Sunyani Technical University

While pursuing his Master of Arts (MA) in Business Administration at Sunyani Technical University, he was elected President of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC). During his tenure, he championed student welfare, advocated for improved academic conditions, and promoted student leadership and unity. His administration was recognized for fostering dialogue between students and university management while initiating programmes that enhanced student development and participation.

• Assemblyman – Kofiase Ahenbronum Electoral Area, Mampong Ashanti

Hon. Issifu Yakubu later ventured into local governance and grassroots leadership by serving as Assemblyman for the Kofiase Ahenbronum Electoral Area in Mampong, Ashanti Region. As an Assemblyman, he represented the interests of his constituents and played a key role in community development initiatives, including advocacy for improved infrastructure, sanitation, education, and social welfare within the electoral area.

• SIC Best Marketing Officer – 2022 to 2025

Between 2022 and 2025, he received recognition as SIC’s Best Marketing Officer due to his outstanding commitment, professionalism, and excellent performance in the insurance sector. Through innovative marketing strategies, customer engagement, and dedication to organizational growth, he contributed significantly to expanding the institution’s customer base and strengthening public confidence in the company.

• Parliamentary Candidate – National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mampong Constituency, 2024

In 2024, Hon. Issifu Yakubu contested as the Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress in the Mampong Constituency. His campaign focused on youth empowerment, job creation, education, infrastructure development, healthcare improvement, and economic opportunities for the people of the constituency. His message of hope, development, and inclusive leadership resonated strongly with many residents.

• SIC President – Till Date

Hon. Issifu Yakubu works with State Insurance Company (SIC) and currently serves as the President of SIC Marketing Department, where he continues to demonstrate visionary leadership and commitment to institutional growth. Under his leadership, the organization continues to promote professionalism, teamwork, innovation, and excellent service delivery.

• Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) – Mampong Municipal Assembly, 2025 to Date

In 2025, Hon. Issifu Yakubu was appointed by The President of Ghana and approved by Honourable Assembly Members of Mampong Municipal Assembly as Municipal Chief Executive for the Mampong Municipal Assembly. Since assuming office, he has remained committed to advancing the developmental agenda of the municipality through effective governance, stakeholder collaboration, revenue mobilization, sanitation improvement, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and community engagement. His leadership continues to focus on improving the living conditions of residents and promoting sustainable development across the municipality.
