The commissioning of the ultra-modern Junior High School block at Nobem M/A Basic School in Mampong Municipality, Ashanti Region marked a significant milestone in the educational development of the area. On Tuesday September 16, 2024 however, Hon. Yakubu Issifu Municipal Chief Executive for Mampong and Nana Kwadwo Akuako, Chief of Nobem jointly performed the ceremony.
The commissioning of the new JHS block at Nobem M/A Basic School accentuates the importance of investing in education infrastructure to ensure students have access to quality learning environments. This development aligns with efforts to improve educational outcomes and promote sustainable development in the Mampong Municipality.
The commissioning ceremony of the esteemed project generously funded by Lawyer Christopher Ayebono Atanga and the diligent School Management Committee (SMC) members was a grand affair.
The event was attended by esteemed dignitaries including Hon. Yakubu Issifu (Municipal Chief Executive of Mampong Municipal Assembly accompanied by officials from the Assembly), Nana Kwadwo Akuako (Chief of Nobem), Nana Kwadwo Amoh, (Antoa Krobo Akyeamehene), Hon. Hudu (NDC Constituency Secretary) representatives from the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), the school’s headmaster, dedicated teachers and enthusiastic pupils.
In his keynote address the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Yakubu Issifu, deemed it a great honor to stand before the distinguished guests, esteemed community leaders, teachers, students and fellow citizens to commission the magnificent Junior High School block. This project is a testament to our President His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to improving education in the country as he reiterated. He urged the students to take advantage of the facility and work hard to achieve their academic goals and to the teachers he charged them to continue providing quality education and guidance to the children.
He thanked the development partners and the School Management Committee for their support in making the project a reality. He encouraged them to work together to maintain the facility and ensure it serves the purpose for which it was built.
On behalf of the school community, the headmaster Mr. Isaac Yaw Fosu expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Yakubu Issifu, Lawyer Christopher Ayebono Atanga, the School Management Committee (SMC), invited chiefs, parents, the citizenry and the Mampong Municipal Assembly for this magnificent JHS block. He emphasized that the facility will transform their learning environment. We further thanked them for their vision and financial support. He also advised the students by letting them understand the importance of the facility and how it will go a long way to inspire them to work hard and achieve academic excellence.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of citations to esteemed guests in recognition of their invaluable contributions to the commissioning of the Junior High School block. This honor was bestowed upon Hon. Yakubu Issifu, Municipal Chief Executive of Mampong Municipal Assembly, Lawyer Christopher Ayebono Atanga, generous benefactor and financier of the project, Nana Kwadwo Akuako, Chief of Nobem and other special invitees.
The presentation of citations served as a token of appreciation for their support and commitment to educational development in the community.
