The Mampong Municipal Assembly has embarked on a comprehensive field data collection exercise aimed at strengthening its revenue mobilisation efforts and improving service delivery across the municipality.

The exercise involved the deployment of trained data collectors to communities across Mampong to identify, register, and update records of businesses, properties, and other rateable entities. Using the DLRev digital system, officers captured real-time data, including location details, ownership information, and operational status of businesses and properties.

Teams were deployed to various communities within Mampong to gather accurate and up-to-date information. The exercise involved registering new businesses, verifying existing records, and capturing relevant data such as location details, ownership, and operational status. In addition, digital tools were utilized to improve accuracy and facilitate easy integration into the Assembly’s revenue database.

Officials of the Assembly indicated that the exercise is critical in addressing gaps in the current revenue system, particularly issues of under-enumeration and outdated records. By expanding the revenue database, the Assembly aims to increase compliance, promote transparency, and ensure that all eligible individuals and businesses contribute fairly to local development.

Residents and business operators were encouraged to cooperate with the data collection teams and provide accurate information to support the exercise. The Assembly assured the public that all data collected would be used strictly for planning and revenue purposes.

The initiative is expected to significantly boost revenue generation, enabling the Assembly to invest more in infrastructure, sanitation, and social services. It also reflects a growing commitment to leveraging data-driven approaches for effective governance and sustainable development within the Mampong Municipality.

The Assembly has indicated that similar exercises will be conducted periodically to maintain an updated and reliable revenue database, ensuring continuous improvement in financial management and service delivery.
