On Tuesday 28 April 2026, the Mampong Municipal Chief executive Hon. Yakubu Issifu was pleased to commission two major educational infrastructure projects aimed at advancing quality teaching and learning within the Municipality.

An ultra-modern Kofiase Otuasekan M/A Primary School block and a newly constructed teachers’ accommodation block have been officially handed over for use at Kofiase and Anyankamamu respectively in the Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The teachers’ accommodation block was built by the help of Turbo Ghana a Non-Governmental Organization. The commissioning ceremony was performed by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Yakubu Issifu in the company of the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mad. Esther Abaching, the Municipal Director of Education, traditional leaders, Assembly Members, heads of department, teaching staff and pupils.

The projects were funded and executed under the Assembly’s development agenda to expand access to quality education and improve teacher welfare in underserved communities.

In his address, Hon. Yakubu Issifu reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to prioritizing education as a catalyst for socio-economic development. He noted that the provision of a modern, well-furnished classroom block at Kofiase would help decongest existing facilities, accommodate increasing enrollment and create a safe and conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.

He further stated that the teachers’ accommodation block at Anyankamamu was strategically provided to address the challenge of long commuting distances for teachers thereby enhancing punctuality, teacher-pupil contact hours and overall academic performance. “This project is a testament to our President His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to improving education in the country as he has been reiterating for some time now “, he stated.

The Municipal Director of Education Mr. Prince Owusu-Ansah commended the Assembly for the intervention and appealed to teachers to reciprocate the gesture through dedication and improved learning outcomes.

The MCE respectfully encouraged all stakeholders to continue supporting government initiatives in the education sector. These projects reflect a shared vision to bridge the infrastructure gap, motivate teaching staff and promote inclusive and equitable quality education in the Mampong Municipality. The facilities are expected to significantly enhance enrollment, retention and academic excellence in both communities.
