Mampong Municipal Assembly

The Mampong Municipal Assembly on Saturday, 2nd May 2026, organized its fifth monthly clean-up exercise at Kofiase as part of efforts to promote environmental cleanliness and healthy living within the Municipality.

The exercise, which was headed by Municipal Environmental Health Officer (MEHO) Mr. Richmond Adam and supported by the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD) Ms. Esther Abaching and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Yussifu Yakubu, brought together assembly staff, assembly member of the area, traders, operators, Kofiase Technical Institute,  and residents who actively participated in cleaning major streets, gutters, market areas, and the market in the town

Participants cleaned streets, removed weeds, desilted gutters, and collected refuse from public places to improve sanitation and prevent the outbreak of sanitation-related diseases. The clean-up exercise was also used to enlighten residents on the importance of keeping their environment clean and on proper waste disposal practices.

The Coordinating Director commended residents of Kofiase for their active participation and commitment towards ensuring a clean and healthy environment. They encouraged community members to make environmental cleanliness a regular practice and support the Assembly’s sanitation initiatives.

The MCE emphasized that good sanitation is a shared responsibility and called on all residents to continue supporting communal labour activities aimed at improving the living conditions within the Municipality.

Residents expressed appreciation to the Assembly for extending the monthly clean-up exercise to their community and pledged their readiness to participate in future sanitation activities.

The exercise formed part of the Assembly’s ongoing monthly sanitation campaign aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness, disease prevention, and sustainable community development across the Municipality.
