The Mampong Municipal Assembly came alive with excitement and unity as it proudly hosted the 2026 International Workers’ Day celebrations on 1st May 2026, bringing together five districts in a vibrant display of solidarity and recreation.
The event saw active participation from Sekyere Kumawu District, Sekyere Central District, Sekyere East District, Sekyere South District, and the host municipality, Mampong Municipal. The gathering highlighted the importance of teamwork, staff welfare, and inter-district collaboration in local governance.
The celebration featured a variety of fun-filled and competitive activities designed to promote unity among workers. These included traditional games such as sack race, playing cards, ludo, and Oware, as well as thrilling football matches that drew cheers from enthusiastic supporters. The atmosphere was lively and colourful, with participants and spectators alike enjoying moments of laughter, camaraderie, and healthy competition.
One of the major highlights of the event was the football competition, where teams from the participating districts battled for supremacy. After a series of exciting matches, Sekyere Kumawu District emerged as the ultimate winners, earning applause and recognition for their outstanding performance.
The event not only celebrated the contributions of workers but also strengthened relationships among the various districts. It served as a platform to appreciate the dedication of staff while encouraging unity and teamwork in the pursuit of development goals.
