The Management of the Mampong Municipal Assembly on Monday, 20th July 2026, held a management meeting to review the Assembly’s performance, assess ongoing programmes and projects, and deliberate on strategic measures to improve service delivery and institutional performance.
The meeting brought together the Municipal Chief Executive, Municipal Coordinating Director, Heads of Departments and Units, and other members of the Assembly’s Management Team to discuss key administrative and developmental issues affecting the Municipality.
A major item on the agenda was the review of the Performance Contract, where Heads of Departments provided updates on the implementation of agreed targets and key performance indicators. Management assessed the level of progress made so far by Heads of departments and encouraged all departments to intensify efforts to ensure the timely achievement of their commitments for the 2026 assessment period.
The meeting also featured a discussion on the District Development Data Platform (DDDP), the Government’s digital platform designed to improve planning, monitoring, reporting, and decision-making across Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs). Members were briefed by a team participated on the DDDP workshop on the implementation of the new platform and the need for departments to ensure the timely submission of accurate and up-to-date data to enhance evidence-based planning and reporting.
Management further deliberated on the District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) and highlighted its importance in measuring the Assembly’s institutional performance. Heads of Departments were reminded of their responsibilities in meeting the assessment requirements by ensuring that all relevant documents, records, and evidence are properly maintained and readily available for verification.
The meeting also considered issues arising from the Auditor-General’s Report, with Management emphasizing the need for strict compliance with financial regulations, internal control procedures, and public financial management guidelines. Departments were encouraged to address all audit observations promptly and implement corrective measures to strengthen accountability, transparency, and prudent resource management.
Updates were also provided on the progress of ongoing development projects and programmes across the Municipality. Management reviewed the implementation status of various infrastructure and social intervention projects and urged project managers and implementing departments to ensure quality execution, timely completion, and effective supervision of all projects to deliver maximum benefits to residents.
Revenue mobilisation was another key issue discussed during the meeting. Management reviewed the Assembly’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF) performance and explored practical strategies to improve revenue collection. Proposed measures included strengthening revenue monitoring, expanding the revenue base, enhancing taxpayer education, improving the use of digital revenue collection systems, and intensifying supervision of revenue collectors to minimise leakages and improve efficiency.
In his closing remarks, the MCE, Hon. Issifu Yakubu commended Heads of Departments and Units for their dedication and urged all staff to remain committed to teamwork, accountability, and excellence in service delivery. He reiterated that achieving the Assembly’s development objectives requires effective collaboration, timely reporting, prudent financial management, and sustained efforts to improve revenue generation.
The meeting reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to strengthening institutional performance, promoting good governance, enhancing financial accountability, and delivering quality services that improve the lives of the people of the Mampong Municipality.
