The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Mampong, Hon. Yakubu Issifu presented a comprehensive address to Assembly Members and Technocrats on Thursday 18th December, 2025 highlighting accomplishments and outlining strategies to augment municipal development.

He conveyed sincere Christmas and New Year greetings to Hon. Members and attendees expressing wishes for joy, benevolence and secure festivities. Additionally, he exhorted moderation and prudent travel practices during the festive seasons.

The Hon. MCE briefed the house that as at November 2025 the Assembly had mobilized GH₡1,853,105.00 representing 86% of the budgeted amount of GH₡2,148,977.00. He said ongoing efforts aimed to augment revenue mobilization to finance developmental projects. “In alignment with the directive from the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs revenue digitalization has been prioritized to enhance performance. Preliminary procedures to engage a service provider are in progress with implementation anticipated to commence in January 2026 thereby strengthening the Assembly’s capacity to mobilize financial resources for sustainable development”. Hon. Yakubu was pleased to highlight notable achievements in education. The municipality hosted the 2025 National Maths and Science Semi-finalists and STEM Champions from Amaniampong Senior High School who were honoured at the Assembly premises. The team’s coach was adjudged Best STEM Coach in Ghana and the team will represent Ghana in an international competition. In recognition of their achievement, the Assembly has offered to cover passport costs for team members and provided GH₡5,000 in support (GH₡2,000 during preparations and GH₡3,000 post-victory). This exemplary performance was a testament to excellence and he encouraged other schools to emulate their hard work and dedication.

The Hon. MCE presented some projects with completed tender and evaluation processes spanning from Education through Health to Water and Sanitation  and they included the construction of 3-Unit Classroom Block at Kofiase Damascus, construction of 2-Unit KG Block at Sataso, completion of 6-Unit Classroom Block at Ahmadiyya, Mampong, completion of 6-Unit Classroom Block at Kofiase Abukari Islamic Primary School, completion of 4-Unit Classroom Block at Daaho, Bosofour R/C and Kofiase SDA JHS, renovation of 6-Unit Classroom Block at Kofiase Otuasekan Primary, construction of CHPS Compound at Ninting/Hwediem, completion of CHPS Compounds at Aframano, Atonsuagya and Sekruwa, Drilling of 7 mechanized and 4 hand pump boreholes in various communities, supply of 5 Refuse Containers and other Projects included the renovation of Municipal Chief Executive’s bungalow. Concurrent approval at regional level is pending with site handing over to contractors scheduled for Friday, 19th December 2025, he told the participants.

He further said that the Mampong Municipality has undertaken various development projects under the Ghana Road Fund Routine Maintenance programme including;  grass cutting along Wiamoase road phase 1 & II, grading of selected roads in Mampong Township, desilting of open drains along Asikafoamantem,  Road line Marking (100% completed Painting of the median at Monica’s intersection). The Road Safety committee will conduct radio talk shows to promote road safety during the festive season.

The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) has implemented the Adwumawura Program training 135 beneficiaries in entrepreneurship skills with a grant component pending release to support business setup.

The Regional Farmer’s Day celebration honored Mr Emmanuel Opoku Opare as best regional farmer and Hon Alexander Obeng as Municipal best farmer 2025. The municipality appreciated the Regional Minister, Hon. Members and Agya Wiase for their support.

Security measures are in place for a peaceful festive season with regular night patrols and Municipal Security Committee support.

In his concluding statement, the Hon. MCE reiterated that the harmattan season is upon us and it’s essential to exercise caution to prevent avoidable fire incidents in homes and farming areas. The Fire Service Command is poised to conduct sensitization programs via radio and information centres to educate the public on fire safety measures.  He therefore advised the participants to heed to the warning and take necessary precautions to ensure a safe and incident-free season

The illustrious gathering was honoured by the esteemed presence of an array of dignitaries including the Mampong Municipal Coordinating Director, the Presiding Member, senior echelon representatives from various security agencies, honourable assembly members and heads of departmental entities who conjointly contributed to the prestige and solemnity of the occasion through their attendance.
