The Mampong Municipal Assembly has organized a capacity-building training programme on the District Local Revenue (DLRev) platform to equip Revenue Collectors with essential digital skills for effective revenue data management.

The training forms part of the Assembly’s strategic efforts to modernize its revenue systems and improve the accuracy and reliability of data used in revenue mobilisation. Participants were taken through practical sessions on how to use the DLRev platform to capture, update, and manage data on businesses, properties, and other rateable entities within the municipality.

Speaking at the training, the Consultant, Mr. Fred Boakye emphasized the importance of adopting digital tools to address challenges associated with manual data collection, including errors, duplication, and revenue leakages. The training is expected to enhance the capacity of data collectors and revenue collectors to efficiently gather and manage information, ensuring that all eligible ratepayers are properly identified and billed.

The initiative is aimed at improving Internally Generated Funds (IGF) by expanding the Assembly’s revenue base and promoting compliance among residents and businesses. It also seeks to strengthen transparency and accountability in revenue administration, while supporting evidence-based planning and decision-making.

Furthermore, the improved revenue performance is expected to translate into better service delivery, enabling the Assembly to invest more in infrastructure, sanitation, and community development projects across the municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Yussifu Yakubu reiterated its commitment to leveraging technology and continuous staff development to strengthen local governance and promote sustainable development within Mampong.
